Introduction:
A good doctor has to take care of the patient, in addition to treating his or her disease. How to communicate with patients is, thus, of critical importance to every physician. This includes how to let the patient understand his or her condition; how to translate medical jargons into layman terms; as well as how to break the bad news. The use of language is a significant skill to be acquired by every medical professional, and also an art to be appreciated. Professor Francis KL CHAN will share his insights in the talk.
