Profile

Leung Shu Fung received a Ph.D. in Chinese Language and Literature from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently a lecturer in the Department. His primary research interests lie in classical literature. His major works include A Bibliography of Li Bai Studies (covering Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) and Dong Po Zhi Lin(Text Annotation and Guide Reading, co-authored). In recent years, he has focused on reinterpreting classical Chinese literature through the lens of botany and exploring its intersections with West Asian texts. His recent research includes: “Reading Tao Yuanming’s Poems through the Qimin Yaoshu” (2024), ” Ecological Constraints and Cultural Reception: A Study of Date Palm Motifs on Changsha Kiln Ceramics ” (2024), “A Research on Peony Imagery and Poetry during the Tang Dynasty ” (2024), ” Misplanting and Misconceptions: Cultivation Techniques and Related Folklore Discussions Following the Introduction of Coriander into China ” (2024), ” A Study of Yu Jin in Tang Dynasty ” (2023), “Cross-border Timber Trade in The Middle Ages: A Study of Agarwood Tribute by Persian Merchants in 824AD ” (2023)
