Dr. POON Wai Ting

Dr. POON Wai Ting graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and continued her works at CUHK. Her academic interests include Foreign Sinology and Chinese Classics, especially the study of the research works of Japanese sinologists in the Edo Period. She frequently visits archives and libraries throughout the world to gather research materials and aggressively pursue new avenues in Foreign Sinology studies. Dr. POON is also committed to teaching Chinese. During her education, she worked as a part-time teacher in primary and secondary schools to gain teaching experience at various levels. She worked at several colleges and institutions after receiving her PhD in order to gain a deeper understanding of students’ learning needs.

Dr. Poon is currently a lecturer in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and also teaches ‘Chinese Classics Related to Medicine’ at the School of Chinese Medicine at CUHK. In recent years, she has specialized in topics such as ‘Foreign Sinology and Chinese Classics’ and ‘Chinese Language Teaching’.
