AI System for Teaching and Learning University Chinese

The project aims to develop an AI mobile Web Portal to support Chinese language teaching and learning for the core University Chinese I and II courses and enhance students’ Chinese language proficiency. The key features include:

• Handwriting Translation: The portal will recognize both traditional and simplified Chinese characters, translating students’ handwritten Chinese into digital text, thus enabling them to further edit the document in word processor and submit the final work to the Veriguide system.
• Content Generation: Teachers and students can obtain corresponding sentences, paragraphs, and chapters by simply entering information like writing themes and learning key points.
• Writing Analysis: With adherence to the teaching focus of the University Chinese courses, the portal will provide analysis on inputted texts.
• Writing Prompts: The portal will generate writing prompts and suggestions to help students improve their problem-solving and writing abilities.
• Learning History: The portal will categorize and archive the generated content, allowing users to manage and review their learning materials conveniently.

With the aid of this portal, both students and teachers could generate learning or teaching materials which address their unique needs. Personalized comment further promotes self-learning by the students.
