Description

Experiential learning, also known as hands-on learning, originated in the 1980s through the work of American educational theorist David Cooper. Our project adopts an experiential learning pedagogy to provide comprehensive immersive learning opportunities that bridge the real world with online platforms. We integrate tangible and virtual environments to enable students to experience, observe, reflect on, and apply their learning. Our instructors foster creative thinking during reading and writing tasks, aiming to nurture and enhance students’ creative abilities. Our initiative caters to all students, including those currently enrolled or who have completed the “University Chinese” course.

The project’s format is primarily cross-media, blending real-life settings, photographs, videos, sounds, and texts to immerse students in a sensory-rich environment and foster creativity through multimedia elements. We will establish a 360-degree Reality System Platform to capture inspiring natural and cultural settings, creating an immersive platform utilizing virtual reality (VR) technology. By providing access to this platform, we aim to empower students to experience realistic field trip scenarios at their convenience, drawing inspiration from their thoughts and emotions.
